For all residents living within the city of Shelbyville city limits, curbside recycling service is provided to you.  For questions regarding recycling service, please contact the Shelbyville Street Department – 317-392-5169.

For residents living within Shelby County, but not within the city limits, curbside recycling service is available by contacting a local waste hauler that provides recycling services.

Community Co-mingle Drop off Bins for Recycling

The Shelby County Recycling District provides free community bins for public recycling.  Please follow the directions on the bins as to what is acceptable. Any bins that are continually contaminated with trash or any other unacceptable items will be removed.

All items for recycling must be clean and free from debris.

 

Boggstown – at the Community Park

Fairland – at the Town Hall

Marietta – at Southwestern High School

Shelbyville – at the Blue River Vocational School or at the Shelby County Transfer Station

Waldron – across from the Waldron General Store

Aluminum and steel cans

Glass bottles & Jars

Plastics – Recycle numbers 1-5 & 7, (we can not accept number 6 plastics)

Unaccepted Items

Plastic Bags

Plastic without a recycling symbol

Styrofoam – #6 plastic

Vinyl siding

Window glass, drinking glasses or any other household glass except bottles and jars

Plastic Bag recycling is available at Wal-Mart and Kroger, inside the front doors.
